Melanie HillGreat hotel
by Melanie Hill

We have just spent a week at this lovely hotel. It’s is perfectly situated between both the old town, the strip and the beach. The hotel itself is spotless, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. The food was lovely, great selection and staff helpful. Nice pool and always able to get a sun lounger , none of this getting down early business. Also has a lovely jacuzzi which is pleasant. Cannot comment on hotel entertainment as we went out every night . Would definitely stay again!!

Carl GregoryVery Clean Hotel
by Carl gregory

The hill can be a little tiresome, but not as bad as people say. I would take the next hill around the corner as it is not so steep.

We took our 15 yr old and 11 year old. Our youngest moans about walking up hills, just generally anything that requires him to move his feet, but even he didn't moan about the hill. We couldn't do it all in 1 go, but we started off at the bottom, kind of stopped at the second lamp post half way up for a minute then carried on.

It is a wonderful hotel with wonderful staff who cannot do enough for you. Very clean hotel and the maids do a fab job. We left her a nice tip when we was there a few weeks ago.

Shona SimmsDisappointed
by Shona Simms

Staying here first week of June 2019 . Hotel is clean and staff are pleasant. We have been shipped off to another hotel for our evening meal and it is the worst dining experience of our many many Benidorm trips . In fact now eating out . Breakfast is in hotel and it’s awful . cold and very little choice . A nice hotel to stay for room only basis but beware eating here .

Having stayed at this hotel many many times I just love this hotel. From the friendly staff in bar to reception right out to the pool.
The food is great and there is always plenty of choice for everyone.
The rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels if you need them.
The hotel is only 2 minutes from levante beach

Joy Charlesworth 6th May 2018
If you fancy something nice and relaxing away from all the noise Hotel Gran Delfin it's at the other side of Benidorm you've got the best of everything beach front hotel typically Spanish/English great food, lovely staff! No noise you see the sun rising from your room every morning. This hotel for me is a hidden gem. Yes it's slightly out of it but there's taxis and buses. We stayed here last year and are going again end of this month.

Carol Andrew - Hotel location
The 4 star Gran Hotel Delfin is situated at the far end of the Poniente beach about 2 miles from Benidorm Old Town and even further from most of the night life.
There is a bus (number 3) that stops outside the hotel but the journey into town takes about 30 minutes as the route goes a long way round. Taxi journeys are also longer then you might expect due to the one way system. The cost of a taxi into the centre of town was about €7-10.
If you are looking for a quiet hotel situated right by the beach then this is an excellent choice. If you want to make frequent visits into Benidorm then this is probably not the hotel for you.
Who stays there?
Judging by the age of most of the guests and the number of notices in reception, it appears that Saga holidays have a big presence at the hotel. Speaking to a couple of people they said they were booked with Saga on an ‘all inclusive’ basis. We booked through booking.com and were not offered this option.
We heard a couple of the Saga group complain that there were Spanish people staying at what they considered a ‘Saga’ hotel. They seemed to think it should be for their exclusive use. Luckily not everyone there thought that way.
The bedrooms
We were staying at the hotel with my husband’s sister in two standard double rooms. Although the rooms were the same price they were very different.
The bathroom of one had a bath with a shower over it, a toilet, wash basin and bidet. The view from this room looked over the pool.
The other room’s bathroom was more in the format of a ‘wet room’ with an open shower area and no bidet. This room was, in my opinion, far inferior and overlooked a fire escape and air conditioning units which were quite noisy when the window was open.
The better room was number 220. The inferior one was 121. You may like to bear this in mind if you are considering this hotel.
There are more expensive room options with a balcony and some have a sea view. Be aware though that the sea view rooms at the front of the hotel are over the outside bar/terrace which could be quite noisy until it closes at midnight.
Food and drink
We opted for half board. It was possible to take the meal at either lunch or dinner.
As with most hotels nowadays, all meals were buffet style.
The food was excellent both in terms of selection and quality. In my opinion one of the best hotel buffets I have had anywhere.
To get from the terrace to the main part of the hotel you had to walk through the dining room which, during meal times, felt rather odd.
For those of us not on ‘all inclusive’ the drinks in the hotel were very expensive. A glass of wine (quite a small pour) was €3. A white coffee was €1.90 and a dry Martini and lemonade €5.50. All cocktails were €6. On top of these prices was 10% IVA.
Other comments
I found the constant music being played in the corridors and lift annoying but some people might like it. It was not nice gentle background type music but quite loud 60s/70s pop music.
Staff at reception were friendly and very helpful.
There was a ‘pillow menu’ where you had a choice of 4 different types of replacement or extra pillows. We took this option as there was just one, not very thick pillow on each bed. There was no charge for this service.
There is a fridge and a safe in the room at no extra charge. There is also a complimentary bottle of water in the room on arrival.
Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel – you just need to ask at reception for the login details. There were also a couple of computers and a printer near reception for the use of guests.
It was stated that tea or coffee making facilities were available in the bedrooms on request. We asked for this and were just given a kettle – no cups, tea or coffee etc – just a kettle.
Evening entertainment was the same every night (Monday to Friday). It was a not very inspiring duo consisting of a guitarist and a keyboard player. Considering the hotel was full when we were there not many people attended the entertainment. I think this was partly due to the fact it was in a closed off area and not very well advertised.
Overall opinion
We were originally booked to stay at the Benilux Park where we have stayed before and liked very much. Three days before our visit we were informed the hotel was full and were offered Prince Park as the only alternative. This would not have suited us so we chose to pay the extra for the Delfin (I had stayed there a couple of times in 1970/1971).
If you are a more mature couple looking for a quiet relaxing hotel near the beach with good food then this would be a good choice.
Due to the cost of drinks, booking ‘all inclusive’ with Saga would be a good option.
Looking at the notice board there seemed to be quite a good selection of excursions provided for the Saga group.
Carl Kundalini Reece -Its actually right on the beach front on playa poniente quite some way from Benidorm old town. However, beach front location and only a 10/20 min stroll to the old town.
Anna Kitson - It is a long way out from old town but apparently the hotel give tickets for the buses into the Old Town. I've never stayed there but my friends tell me it's good and the staff are lovely.

Donna WalshBrilliant location, great food, premium drinks
by Donna Walsh

I have stayed here at least a dozen times. We usually go for a jacuzzi room or sea view room but did once have a room at the back which was identical in every way. The food is excellent with plenty of choice, all the drinks are premium, the staff is superb. We love the chill out area on the top floor. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spotless and spacious. The only negative is the entertainment but that doesn’t bother us. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

April JohnstonRobin hood

Yes we did like this place, now they have ultra all inclusive and just all inclusive. ultra gives you access to all the shows, restaurants etc were all inclusive doesnt. I didnt think this was fair it should be all one even if it is slightly more money. Not much entertainment for kids through the day at all. There is a good pool and slides etc but for 7 days it does get boring. staff where friendly and must be mentioned do NOT waste your money on mid evil show it was terrible and all in Spanish the food served wasnt great. I dont think I'd go back as it's a good bit out of Benidorm and if there is over 4 ppl with you you'd need several taxis. it was costing 40 euro there and back. Theres a bus stop about 15 mins walk down a motor way but it's not the safest with kids and no lights at night walking home. I'd say if you just want to spend the week there then ok but not good for Benidorm lovers. food was good but the same everyday and towards the last few days i just couldn't eat it anymore. lots and lots of flies around food too.

This hotel really needs to up their security. A girl was of her head on whatever kicking peoples balconies, screaming in front of kids and nothing was done. it wasnt safe at all, this is a family resort but adults get on like that it's a joke. And another thing anybody could just walk of with your kids that quick. please please for the safety of others use need to be more strict and up your security...
