Words that end in "ma" are usually masculine. Words that end in "dad" tend to be Feminine.
Many English words that end in "ity" translate to Spanish by changing the "ity" to "idad" eg Electricity becomes Electricidad
Many English words that end in "tion" translate to Spanish by changing the "tion" to "ción" eg instruction becomes instrución
