Benidorms Mini Golf area to become residential
Local News, Another sad loss for locals and tourists alike as Benidorms Mini Golf is to become a new residential area.
One of Benidorm´s, most well know family entertainment areas is to close forever. The mini golf located in the British area of the Rincón de Loix will be demolished over the next few months and new housing will be built, as confirmed by the Councilor of Urbanism, Lourdes Caselles.
The current plans are for 19 houses, commercial premises and garage.
Benidorm City Council has issued favourable reports for the demolition project of commercial premises located at 54 Avenida del Mediterráneo.
The Mini golf facility tried to remain open after pandemic restrictions. However, in October 2020 they communicated to their customers and followers on social media that they would close "for the time being, perhaps indefinitely", referencing the health crisis.
As reported in the AlicantePlaza, the mercantile Monver Inmobiliaria founded in 1986 have begun the procedures to build a small housing building in this space. The technical reports are favourable and find that the company has already entered 6,985 euros as a deposit in case of damage to any public infrastructure. It has an execution period of six months for the takedown since the resolution is notified.

The project has been in place since 2018, when the file for the construction license was opened. However, in November 2019 the promoter requested the suspension of the procedure and that municipal technicians supported. This was done until they officially obtained possession of the plot. The legal report at the time noted that for the interruption of formalities it was due to pending legal proceedings.
