    Katy Baynton, July 2017

Our party of 5 stayed in Hotel Centro Mar from Friday 8th July 2016 - Tuesday 12th July 2016, full board, having 2 rooms.

The Reception area was nice and cool, providing a vending machine for late night munchies.

The staff were always friendly and helpful.

The food was alright, it does lack variety to be honest. If you are a fussy eater, you may struggle.

Breakfast was ok, toast and croissants are always available.

Water was 1euro 40, but it was very good! Really cold and thirst quenching.

The hotel is located in the Old Town up a slight bank, which might be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

It was very quiet there, no complaints there.

Our party had 2 rooms, 404 and 405 I believe. The floors were very slippy, both in the rooms and in the rest of the hotel. One of our party members slipped down 4 stairs in her flip flops so please beware!

Our room was adequate for what we wanted it for, just sleeping, getting showered and ready to go out.

There wasn't a fridge in our room which would have been nice as it was very hot and humid whilst we were there.

The bathroom was a good size, the water did flutter between hot and cold sometimes so best to be aware of that.

We also would have liked a balcony but that wasn't really an issue.

    Pool Area/Bar

The rooftop pool area was nice, very well looked after and cleaned by the staff.

Its very popular sunbathing on the roof so best to get there early.

We did have in incident where a Spanish lady took jumped on our sun lounger as soon as the wind blew the towel off, so best to take some towel sunbed clips.

    Any other information

It was my sisters birthday whilst we stayed here and I contacted them in advance to tell them, they arranged for a cold bottle of Cava and some cake to be delivered up to her room. She was thrilled!

We certainly would stay here again, but probably on a bed and breakfast or room only basis and enjoy the food in the surrounding restaurants next time.

I enjoyed my first trip to Benidorm so much that we have booked to go back again at the end of September, we are staying in some apartments next time, very excited.

    Hope my review helps!

Gemma Luz 7th May 2018 - For those wanting a stay in the Old Town, we checked out Hotel Centro Mar. Here’s my review.....

We have just returned from a one week stay at the Hotel Centro Mar which is in the heart of the action in the Old Town and less than a minute walk away from the start of Tapas Alley and the famous La Cava Aragonesa tapas bar. It is a few minutes walk from either main beach and close to private cove area and harbour for boat tours. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, staff could not have been more accommodating, please ignore any comments made about staff being rude as this is simply not true.

Nothing was ever a hassle and we were greeted with a smile, hello and always making conversation with us! Room was clean and perfect size for us. We even had a small balcony space which was lovely to look around and people watch! We chose to go half board which meant which had 2 choices of meals from either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Not a mega selection of food but enough to fill your boots and on a occasions we were treated to lovely jamon, mussels, prawns, paella etc. I never found the food to be cold. With every meal you get a free bottle of water and wine! This was perfect and got us ready for our night out.

There is some construction work going on next to the hotel BUT I took ear plugs and it drowned out the sound. I only found it to be a little noise which didn’t impact on my holiday whatsoever. The views from the pool roof top are absolutely incredible and I booked this hotel on this fact alone. The rest was a bonus! Lovely cocktails on the rooftop whilst you take in the views are a must!

There is about a 10 minute walk to Heatbreak/Daytona beach bars and a good 20 minutes to the start of the English quarter. All staff were lovely, in particular we were really looked after by Chema, Milena & Luis (sorry can’t remember more names) Milena is an absolute credit to your hotel and it was apparent she had a great relationship with her customers.

This hotel is not on a hill, it’s on a slight incline up from the flat area. It’s really nothing and please don’t let this put you off booking here.

On my boyfriends birthday the Hotel gifted him with a birthday certificate, free cocktails and upgraded our free bottle of wine to a better quality one. Such a sweet gesture, thank you ❤️
The location is just perfect, we didn’t want to be in the new town so this was everything we wanted. Perfect for couples, friends but not stag/hen parties.

We can’t wait to be back!

  • Excellent hotel

We stayed at Hotel Centro Mar from 5th to 9th April, travelling out as a couple for my birthday. The staff at the hotel were just brilliant, so helpful! I had an issue with our first room smelling of sewage. Apparently the drains in the old town don't cope so well with rain. I did have to pay for an upgrade to ensure I didn't have a smelly room but it was worth it as we got a seaview balcony.

The food was basic but perfectly acceptable. It is a small hotel so there wasn't a huge range on offer but what we had was hot and tasty, and you get a free bottle of wine with your meal.

The roof top pool and bar is a bit of a show stopper. The views are amazing and it's a real sun trap.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for adults and would book again!
