Drunk Brits Disrupt Ryanair Flight to Alicante
Two British passengers caused major disruption on a Ryanair flight from Leeds Bradford to Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport last week. Both men, reportedly part of a stag party, had been visibly intoxicated even before boarding, according to fellow travellers.
Bachelor Party Turns Chaotic in Flight
During the flight, their behaviour escalated, disturbing other passengers and challenging the cabin crew. The men shouted at travellers, ignored instructions from staff, and created a tense environment that many described as uncomfortable and stressful. The situation became serious enough that the crew contacted Spanish police ahead of landing to ensure the safety of everyone onboard.
Upon arrival in Alicante, armed Civil Guard officers boarded the plane to remove the men.
One passenger resisted, even grabbing an officer by the neck, while fellow travellers filmed the confrontation on their phones. Passengers could be heard shouting at the men to leave the plane, with some urging the officers to subdue him, and expressions of shock and disbelief echoed through the cabin.
Eyewitness Accounts and Aftermath
British tabloids reported that both passengers had been screened by Leeds Bradford Airport security prior to departure, yet were still allowed to board.
Witnesses noted that the men’s behaviour only worsened during the flight. “They were already drunk from the start, and it only got worse. The crew had no choice but to call the police. Everyone was fed up,” one passenger said.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns over unruly passengers, especially those traveling on alcohol-fuelled celebrations like bachelor parties.
Airlines continue to face challenges managing in-flight safety and passenger behaviour, and this event serves as a reminder of the importance of reporting and preventing disruptive conduct.
