Family’s desperate plea to bring grandmother home after heart attack

Agnes ‘Aggie’ Martin is 74 today – but after suffering a sudden heart attack, she has been left medically brain dead. Aggie’s family have set up a fundraiser so they can bring her home to Glasgow.

The family of an Easterhouse pensioner are desperate to bring her home from Spain after a sudden heart attack left her medically brain dead.

Agnes Martin is 74 today and stranded in Benidorm after becoming unwell in front of her 18-year-old grandson William last week. Known as Aggie, the OAP’s heartbroken family have been told that her brain was starved of oxygen for too long following a heart attack on August 29.

Eastender Aggie was on holiday with son William, daughter Karen and grandsons Jack and William – the teenager who was with her at the time called for help and a nurse appeared to perform CPR before an ambulance arrived.

Now, niece Tricia Gowans has set up a fundraising page to fly Aggie home so that loved ones can see her in person.
