Five arrested on suspicion of gang rape of Norwegian tourist
09th August – Update – Three detained by Courts and two released unconditionally
A judge in Benidorm has sent three of the five French tourists to prison without bail for an alleged crime of sexual abuse after being accused by two Norwegian young people of a crime of rape and other abuse. The other two have been released on provisional freedom without precautionary measures.
07th August – The Guardia Civil ave arrested from an Apartment in Benidorm five young people between 18 and 19 on suspicion of a sexual assault on a 20-year-old woman of Norwegian nationality yesterday morning.
Handcuffed , the five arrested, of French nationality, have been detained between 7 pm and 7.40 pm together with the ex officio lawyer assigned to them, in an operation in which armed agents participated.
Civil guards have looked for possible clues in this apartment located on a sixth floor of a total of 10 floors, of a building that has outdoor gardens and a pool located at number 3 of Monte Carlo street .
The detainees and their lawyer have entered and left without making statements , the arrests were witnessed by some bystanders and local neighbours.
The men, who are on vacation in Spain, were arrested after the victim and a friend went to the health centre in nearby town of Alfaz del P.. The health centre informed the Police about an alleged case of group sexual assault They reported to be attending two women, 20-Years-old, for an alleged sexual assault on one of them.
The agents moved immediately to the medical centre, for Interview with the victim, who told them how the facts happened, the Police after receiving details from the victim and her friend acted promptly to detain the suspects in case they decided to return to their Country of origin.
They are currently being interviewed and expected to brought to the Courts tomorrow on August 8th.
