DUTY FREE ALLOWANCES FROM SPAIN TO UK

RYANAIR

Ryanair offers a number of different bag options to fit the needs of everyone.

All passenger fare types include a small personal bag, which must fit under the seat in front of you.

Bag measurements - 40cm x 25cm by 20cm or 25cm x 40cm x 20cm or 25cm x 40cm x 20cm

Need more room?

Priority & 2 Cabin Bags gives customers the benefit of boarding the plane via the Priority Queue and carrying their small personal bag (40x20x25cm) and 10kg wheelie bag (55x40x20cm) with them on board. This will mean you won't need to wait for your bag at the terminal at the destination. If Priority is sold out, you can purchase our 10kg Check-in Bag.

Planning to shop? Why not purchase the 10kg Check-in Bag?

The 10kg Check-in Bag offers a cheaper checked bag option, plus customers can also pack more liquids into a 10kg checked wheelie bag and walk to the boarding gate 'hands free.' Customers will check-in their 10kg wheelie bag at our bag drop desk prior to entering security.

20kg Check-in Bag!

The 20kg Check-in Bag provides you with extra room in your suitcase so you can pack all of your necessities and more!
Each passenger can purchase up to 3 checked bags of 20 kilos. Customers will check-in their 20kg Check-in bag at our bag drop desk prior to entering security.

On-board Medical Items

Passengers with medical equipment can still bring these items on board, free of charge, in addition to their small personal bag subject to pre-clearance by our Special Assistance team.

Travelling with a baby?

You can carry 2 items of baby equipment free of charge per child.
There is no cabin bag allowance for an infant (aged 8 days to 23 months). However, Ryanair allow a baby bag up to 5kg (dimensions: 45x35x20cms) for babies travelling on an adult's lap.

Over-sized Cabin Bags

Over-sized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of €/£ 69.99 (fee subject to VAT on domestic flights at applicable government rates).

If you are unsure whether your bag is the correct size, check it at the Bag Drop desk before going through security.

EASY JET New rules in place from 10th February 2021

This new policy was announced in early December. If you have a booking made before December for later in 2021, you may be in for a bit of a surprise.

For all travel from 10th February 2021, the seat you've booked will determine what bags you are able to bring on board.

Everyone can take one small cabin bag per person on board (maximum size 45 x 36 x 20cm, including any handles or wheels), which must fit under the seat in front of you. That should be enough to bring all the essentials for your journey or for a short trip. There’s no weight limit, but we do ask that you are able to lift and carry your bag yourself.

If you have booked an Up front or Extra legroom seat you can also bring an additional large cabin bag on board.

Cabin bag allowances:

All passengers can bring one small cabin bag on board for free, with a maximum size of 45cm x 36cm x 20cm including any handles or wheels. This bag must fit underneath the seat in front of you (ie. backpacks, handbags, laptop bags etc).  There’s no weight limit, but you must be able to lift and carry your bag yourself.

Customers who booked Up Front or Extra Legroom seats will get one additional, larger cabin bag included in their fare. This must be 56cm x 45cm x 25cm or smaller, and can go in the overhead locker. This could be a duffel bag or wheely bag, for example.

easyJet Plus and FLEXI fare holders will also be able to bring a larger bag.

In addition to the standard cabin bag allowance, as an easyJet Plus cardholder or FLEXI fare customer, you can also bring on board a large overhead cabin bag by selecting an Up front or Extra legroom seat when you fly. You can do this, free of charge or at a discounted rate, as one of the benefits of your membership or fare.

If you are an easyJet Plus cardholder and have booked a Standard seat, or have not selected a seat, please show your easyJet Plus card at the gate to allow you to board with your large overhead cabin bag. FLEXI fare customers should show their boarding pass.

In the unlikely event that there is no space left in the overhead lockers on board, we'll take your large cabin bag from you at the gate and place it in the hold, free of charge.

Hands Free

Take the hassle out of carrying your cabin bag through the airport by going Hands Free.
It’s also a great value option to bring a bit extra for your trip. Simply drop your cabin bag off at our dedicated easyJet Plus Bag drop when you arrive at the airport and it’ll be amongst the first on the baggage carousel when you get to your destination.

  • Use of easyJet Plus Bag drop
  • Boarding early or at your leisure
  • Having all your bags delivered amongst the first on the baggage belt on arrival

Hands Free is available for bags up to a maximum size of 56 x 45 x 25 cm (including any handles or wheels) and can be purchased in advance of your flight or at our dedicated easyJet Plus Bag drop when you arrive at the airport. A small fee of 7 pounds per passenger or 16 pounds for a family bundle applies. You can take a small cabin bag on board (max. size 45 x 36 x 20 cm including any handles or wheels), which must fit under the seat in front of yo

We check bag sizes before you board. If your cabin bag is bigger than the maximum size or if you bring a large cabin bag to the departure gate without the correct seat selection, it can’t go in the cabin and we’ll have to check it into the aircraft hold for a charge. Please ensure you check your cabin bag allowance before you travel to avoid any charges

It still amazes me that people say. It'll be OK. Why take the risk? Even more amazing is when some people think that they have been hard done by when caught breaking the rules. It's like saying "I've been drink driving for years and never been...

It's like saying "I've been drink driving for years and never been caught." Thinking that the rules don't apply to you is never OK.

I asked recently about the hands free system Easy Jet is doing. Thought I would let you know how I got on. Flew from Belfast just went to bag drop desk & asked to go hands free. Staff did say to me it’s £4 but if you drop case off at gate it won’t cost anything. But I said no the point is I don’t want to have to put it through security. That way I wasn’t limited to the number of liquids I carried also I had put my passport purse & phone into a small handbag I showed this & asked if that was ok. No problem no crappy plastic bag to carry valuables in. With easyJet no weight limit on carry on bag (mine was 12.5 kilos). The bags are marked priority for unloading. Same on return journey no problem would definitely recommend it.
