Nudist beaches in the area

Altea, has 3 nudist beaches Playa de la Solsida, Playa Mascarat Norte and Cala de la Barra Grande.

Playa de la Solside

La Solside beach is 1.400 m. in length with  an average width of 8 m. This is a quiet  isolated beach. with no beach boardwalks or amenities and is a beach consisting of cobble fragments and rocks, quite often there are quite strong waves. If you drive the 332 direction towards Calpe , you need to go a long way in a rocky terrain. But very nice when you get there.

Playa Mascarat Norte

This beach is 280 meters by 21 meters wide. This is quite a popular beach in high season. Semi-urban beach without promenade mainly consisting of stone and gravel.  Access from the N332.

Cala de la Barra Grande

This beach is  50 m. in length and  has an average width of 7 m, very quiet and quite isolated beach, there is no promenade and car access is from the N332 but access to the beach is quite difficult and on foot.

Ti Ximo and Almadrava, Benidorm

At the foot of the Sierra Helada and to the north of the resort, this beach is situated between steep cliffs. This is a small cove  of fine sand and rocks.

These are both popular  spots for nudist sunbathing (although not officially nudist).  There is a life guard service  and sun loungers available here during the summer months. more detailed information HERE

There are no bars or restaurants on either beach, so bring refreshments and wear sensible shoes. Parking is available but very limited.

Raco del Conill, Villajoyosa, (Corner of the rabbit).

This is possibly the best know nudist beach in the area and is in a small, quiet and beautiful bay surrounded by steep mountains, access is quite good with steps down to the beach even with safety rails.  by car drive on the old N332 and turn left at the entrance of the Casino de Villajoyosa.

There are also nudist beaches further afield -

Les Rotes beach, Denia

L`Èsparelló beach Villlajoyosa

Ambolo, Javea

Pesquera El Rebollo Beach, Guadamar de Segura

Calalga, Calpe

L Llobell, Benisa

Naturist rules

– Respect other people’s privacy. Staring  is not polite. Many come to the beaches to get some quiet alone time and do not want to be disturbed.

– Always ask before taking photographs. Even on  a public beach.  Sneak Shoots with mobile cameras could lead to a fine.

– No sex. Nudity is one thing, but sex is a private thing between two people to be performed elsewhere.

– Come prepared. Always take your own towel, sunscreen, food. if listing to music do it quietly. Use headphones on radio or portable equipment.
