A passenger who fell ill was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary after their plane landed at Newcastle Airport early.
The Jet2 flight from Alicante declared an emergency and was forced to land earlier than scheduled so the passenger could receive medical attention.
The medical emergency happened on the LS584 flight which departed Spain at 11.25am local time. The plane was met by an ambulance crew which assessed and treated the passenger at the scene. They then took the ill passenger to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle for further treatment.

The plane had been due to land at 1.30pm but touched down almost 15 minutes early due to the ongoing emergency.
