Seven intoxicated in a fire at dawn in a hotel in Benidorm
More than 240 people were evacuated due to a fire in one of the upper floors of the Flamingo Beach Resort Hotel. Seven people have been treated for smoke inhalation and another for lower back pain.

The fire started shortly before one o’clock in the morning at the Flamingo Beach Resort Hotel, located on Calle del Esperanto in Benidorm. Sources of the Provincial Fire Brigade say that the fire had affected mainly floors 14, 15 and 16. The building has 21 floors and the fire was located near the elevators.
The casualties are between 51 and 75 years old. Four of them were transferred to the Imed Levante Hospital and the other three were treated at the scene.
The Benidorm Fire Brigade of mobilised four vehicles with eleven crew. The teams organized a line for the eviction of the hotel and another for the extinction of the fire. The firefighters checked all the rooms to make sure that nobody else was in trouble and no further fires were in evidence.
At around three thirty in the morning, the fire had been extinguished and the customers of the premises housed on the 14th floor were allowed to return.

I was one of the 240 members evacuated and everything in the hotel was fine – i was staying on the 21st floor and didnt get back to my hotel room till 5.30 am until all the smoke had gone. but the hotel was fine.
