At about 15 km from Benidorm, in the hinterland of the village of Villajoyosa, lies the idyllic Amadorio reservoir with the Amadorio river running in it all the way from the Aitana mountains. We drive up there with the Marco Polo Land Rovers and after some warming up, the 3 to 4 hours walk, depending on the physical condition of the participants, starts. If you are an average hiker and love pure, untouched nature, this is your chance: a babbling river that runs through a deep gorge full of Mediterranean vegetation: lemon plantations, almond trees, in bloom in February, just about all Provencal herbs. And of course the Amadorio reservoir itself.
