Things to do on a Wet Day in Benidorm


With 1000´s of bars in and around Benidorm there is always something going on even if you just sit and people watch or why not try your hand at some Karaoke or housey housey, and of course some of the bars have daytime entertainment such as Heartbreak, Daytona, Western Saloon etc.  To find out who is on when and where use our On-Line Whats On Guide.


What about trying your luck in the casino?  Quite a popular evening activity but it is also open during the day.  located in the nerve center of the city of Benidorm, on Avenida del Mediterráneo.

The biggest gambling activity is concentrated on the ground floor, with slot machines, American Roulette, Black Jack tables, Point and Bank, Poker and Texas Hold'Em. It also highlights its "Juegging (play) Zone" with sports betting terminals and large television screens.

A wide range of entertainment, in addition to its first floor a "Tournament Room", a space shared with magnificent exhibitions to delight the many visitors who spend every day for it.

The setting is sophisticated the the facilities top-notch, smart clothes are required, No sports/beach clothes, flip flops, shorts above the knee or sleeveless t-shirts.  Also take your passport with you for ID (in order to prove legal age, it is strictly forbidden for minors to enter).  There is a €3.00 joining fee.

Why not try your hand at one of the Spanish Bingo Halls, the most popular is Bingo Plaza, next to McDonalds in the old town, on the Plaza Hispanidad, known locally as The Triangle.   Like the casino you have to be over the age of 18 to enter and show photographic ID, so take your passport.

Bingo Plaza has a seating capacity for 600, spread across 100 tables. Each table has 6 chairs and set into the middle of the table is an led monitor so that you can follow the numbers as they are called, marker pens are provided.

Numbers are obviously called in Spanish so if you are not familiar with the language just watch the screen. If you get a complete line shout "linea" or "line" and hold up your hand. Someone will come to you and leave a marker on your table then the game continues until full house is called, prize money is given in cash at the end of the game.

Drinks and food can be ordered at the table and are very cheap.

from 13:00h (1 p.m.) to 02:00h (2 a.m.) friday, saturday and eves of public holidays

Bingo Plaza also has its own car park with direct access to the gaming room.

Next to the bingo hall is a gambling arcade, which is also perfect for a rainy day.

There is a nice bowling alley located on AVENIDA MEDITERRÁNEO, Nº 22, EDIFICIO MIRAMAR PLAYA, (one block from Playa Levante). It also has recreation rooms and restaurants. The bowling is designed for all ages and abilities incorporating bumpers for younger and inexperienced players.

There are also various slot machines, pool and football tables available.

IF THE weather is a little unsettled and you are looking for something to do inside, then what about going to the cinema.  You can catch an English language film at the Cine Colci Rincon, on the Avd Zamora, which is located on the road facing the Round Town Travel shop and just behind the private IMED Levante hospital.

Every week the cinema shows an English original version film – with 2 viewing times each evening. They do vary but the first screening is usually either 6:00pm or 6:30pm – but check beforehand. Entrance prices are -

  • Normal entry: € 6.50 (7 € 3D movies)
  • Day of the spectator: € 5.00 (€ 5.50 3D films)
  • Over 65 or young card (Monday to Thursday, except holidays): € 5.00 (€ 5.50 3D movies

The perfect place to escape the rain, La Marina mall, just a few minutes drive from the town center. La Marina in Finestrat is the largest shopping center in the Benidorm area of Spain, and is popular with both Spaniards and visitors. Known as ‘Centro Comercial La Marina’ in Spanish, La Marina shopping complex has more than 100 stores and restaurants, selling everything from clothing, shoes and jewelry to household products, childrens’ toys and mobile phones. If you’re staying in the Benidorm area of Spain and love to shop, a trip to La Marina is a necessity.

Benidorm has two main sports centres with excellent sports facilities;

‘Polideportivo Municipal’ run by the local council in the neighbourhood of Foietes, which boasts an Olympic swimming pool and a leisure pool, an athletics track, tennis courts, a climbing wall, football pitches and numerous other sports facilities.

‘Palacio de Deportes L’Illa de Benidorm’ in the area known as ‘Salto del Agua’ in the north of the city. Here you can find, among other things, an Olympic swimming pool, as well as a pool for learners, tennis courts, squash courts and a gym.

There is a constant stream of visitors, both locals and tourists throughout the day, but it gets particularly busy in the evenings.
