Food fantasic, really friendly staff, superb location if want to be in the thick of it but giving a 3 because rooms and their facilities are a big let down. We had a removated room too. Very basic, no iron, no bin, no fridge, pretty sure Im bitten by bed bugs and not mosquitos as never been bitten in Beni before, no balcony, was told only my rep can move our rooms and they would be back the next day, we was only there 4 nights so put up with it. Don Pablo or Riviera for us next time. Both superb
My friend and I go to the Ambassador twice a year and we love it there.Food is good and plenty to choose from. x
Just returned from a lovely 2 weeks.
The food was excellent and best we’ve had in any hotel in Benidorm.
The hotel has 2 entertainment venues with great acts and has the Western and Hotel California next door and Morgan’s over the road ,all in the same group and showing your room card gives discount on drinks.
The pool gets sun all day and the covered pool was heated.
The staff are really lovely and nothing’s a trouble to them.
We requested a low floor nearest to Playa 1 and got that which was a great 2 bedroomed room.
Only negative was thebstupid people feeding the birds on higher floors by throwing bread etc over there balcony
One day we were inundated with seagulls, pigeons and sparrows who pooed all over our balcony!
Please don’t feed the birds.
We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back
Ambassador playa 2 hotel faces John and Joseph's and black chicken close to everything you need, food to die for with plenty of choices, staff lovely too. Close to the night life everyone loves about Benidorm
I'm going back to the Ambassador playa hotel in December that will be my 3rd time in a year I'll have stayed there great hotel brilliant food lovely staff great atmosphere you'll love it
Stayed at the ambassador a few weeks ago, only had 1 concern and that was being able to get a sun lounger... NO PROBLEM...excellent pool supervisor, hotel clean n fresh...staff were lovely..and to say it's on the strip..never heard anything.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT
Just back home from a great week staying on the Ambassador. We’d stay there again but on a room only basis as the food was horrible but we liked the hotel.

Just thought I would mention this, Ambassador 11, the Rooms at the back of the hotel are in the shade, the rooms at the front are in the sun, but can be noisy.
If you book with TUI make sure you book and pay for a room at the front if you like to sit on the balcony in the sunshine, if you don't it can be very difficult to get one when you arrive, although the receptionist was very nice about it they would not let us change under any circumstances, they told us you must book these rooms and pay for them before leaving the UK.
We was not bothered though, but some people were! We don't know what arrangements Ambassador 1 has, this is next door but it is the same hotel..
Mini review of Ambassador Playa. The room is okay, clean and fabulously comfortable beds. Dinner last night was okay too. As usual we didn’t make breakfast. So far staff friendly and helpful. Only a couple of sachets and little soap as toiletries
We were there 2 weeks ago, it was good and the food was 5* all the way, sunshine rooms at the front (can be noisy) in the shade rooms at the back (very quiet) if you want a sunshine pool view room it's best to book it when you book with your agent, it's hard to change rooms once you get there enjoy!
Just got back home after a fantastic week in the Ambassador 2 hotel with my wife and in-laws, rooms were spotlessly clean, towels changed everyday, rooms cleaned daily.
We stayed on the 4th floor facing towards the Riviera hotel so was nice and quite.
The hotel bars are brilliant, there's 3 bars to choose from with entertainment every night, your door card also allowed discounted drinks in the western , morgan and riviera hotel bars, the hotel is in a very good location for everything you will need.
The food is the best we've had yet and the choice of deserts was fabulous. The manager Antonio always greeted us at meals & would always find a table to accommodate everyone the staff worked very hard through out the hotel to make it a fantastic holiday... Couldn't fault this hotel and would definitely use again.
Tommy Atherton May 2016 - hi folks we at the Ambassador Playa 2 now as we speak , the maid is in everyday clean towels and stuff all good there you cant check in till 3pm you can hire most stuff with a refundable deposit [but not kettles] there is a hair dryer in the bathroom.
You better like chips as there on every night the fish is full of bones, but other stuff is just fine in the restaurant breakfast is brilliant no faults there , we got here Tuesday all good Wednesday there were building work going on in the lift shafts so it was drilling all day and what a racket it was ,the Thompson reps Ashley and Jack are really helpful anything u need just ask them, also the restaurant manager Antoino is a right grump he never smiles .
Shona Cordiner June 2016 - We have been to this hotel 4 times and just love it, we have been ourselves 3 times and once with my son 18 and daughter who was 14 they enjoyed it too.
The hotel is a clean friendly hotel, the food is fabulous and always something for everyone. The pool, facilities, bars entertainment are second to none I can not fault anything.
Your rooms are nice clean rooms, there is your tv, safe which you pay a deposit for, and you can also hire fridge too which we did but found them very small. We just fill the sink with cold water and we found this ok for keeping our cans cold.
Where this hotel is situated is perfect for everything is shops, pubs restaurants and entertainment. Totally recommend this hotel we wouldn't go anywhere else now. I would pay the extra for the pool view rooms recommend doing that. Enjoy if you go folks.
Tracy Towner November 2016 - Was there at Xmas just gone, booked again for this Xmas..Couldn't fault the staff, helpful, happy & nothing was to much trouble for them..Great central location with 3/4 bars all with something going on in the evenings..Mix of people at Xmas, granted a lot of elder people that go for 4 weeks or more at a time, but myself & my son were very happy..
Room was exactly what was needed, simple, clean & comfortable, you don't spend a holiday solely in the room..
Security man was always about in the evening & there's always someone on reception all the time..
For my first stay back in Benidorm, last year, after not being for many years, this was perfect..
The food is a mix all the time, Xmas meals were fabulous as well..Of course there are going to be chips, get that anywhere..
10/10 from me..x
Wendy Tyler June 2016 - Food is great here and the bonus is its right next to the Western bar, location is good for Morgan Tavern.
I have stayed here 3 times it has a spa as well, you dont even have to go outside entertainment all the way through for different age groups.
A very nice hotel has every thing you need. Not to far to the beach and the pool is ok, it has an indoor one in winter as well and if you like Entertainment get a balcony with pool view and you can watch the entertainment from your own room in the Summer. Very Central location for all ages.
Shaz Dee June 2016 - Stayed here 4 times now. Love this place. I am gluten free & Antonio brought me separate food, deserts & gluten free bread for me to eat every day.
Down side is that last time I stayed in Playa 2 which was the noisier side of the hotel & we had to wait ages for the lifts, there's just not enough lifts for the amount of guests in the hotel. Otherwise I would defo recommend this hotel.
Jackie Kellett June 2016 - The fridge that you can hire at reception does not have an ice box but was fine for keeping drinks cold.
If 3 adults are sharing a room, request a family room.
I sometimes got free wifi in my room on 9th floor but generally was able to get it in Reception and the entertainment lounge.
The service everywhere was very good, except for one grumpy man behind the bar in the entertainment lounge.
Not a complaint against the hotel but I was woken up on 3 nights out of 7 at about 4.00 am by loud people at John and Joseph's across the road and I was on the 9th floor.
Noreen Mcallister June 2016 - Lovely hotel but very disappointed in the food I had booked a room over looking the pool but when we got there we had to pay an extra 168 euros for a pool view room we were there for a month and had booked a year in front so not well pleased but very clean and staff were lovely just a pity about the food 8 out of 10
Donna Drummond-Berry June 2016 - Superb hotel. Great location for night life & 5 mins from beach. Great food but there no getting away from the noise all night long from being so close your the nightlife. I just pack a pair of foam ear plugs.... sorted!
It's very clean. Lovely pool & great spa! Have a massage! You won't regret it!
Maureen Young July 2016
Just back from a fantastic holiday in ambassador playa hotel.food was great.rooms lovely.cant complain about 1 thing.the doors are locked to 8.30am out to pool which I think is a good idea. otherwise I'm sure many beds would have towels on them all night.entertainment was first class. So well done ambassador playa..until the next time
Kerry Butler - Make sure your at the pool door by 8am if you want a sunbed. Doors open at 8.30 but the queue can be massive. We were there July this year. Fantastic hotel great food and location but rooms on the small side. I am on about the pool during peak holiday times by the way.
Helen Ann Shipley April 2017 - Ambassador is lovely. Food great and varied. Yes there were pies which were lovely, sausages too, at breakfast where they should be. Each evening carved meats salads veg, four of us been twice going again next March.
Sharon Cuthbertson Stevenson - Brill hotel, all staff very friendly. Rooms cleaned daily & food lovely great entertainment every night. Also good bar prices. Spa worth €10. Would recommend paying extra for pool view room as can watch entertainment from balcony. Only downside was mad rush for sunbeds (usual in lot hotels ?)however pool attendant did remove towels when folk not back in hour and even when busy we always managed to get a bed. Stayed July 16
Steph Robertson May 2017 - For anyone looking or considering Ambassador Playa, just had a week in there and we had a fab week away and loved every minute of it. Hotel very nice and in prime location – right by bars and restaurants, close to beach, nice staff in bars, restaurants and reception.
Nice modern property, albeit basic. Breakfasts were excellent and I generally thought the hotel food in restaurant was good, especially for a 3 star property ( I thought it was better than food in many 4 staff properties I have stayed in ). Not everything was to my taste, but generally a good selection. Make sure you take your card with you every time you go into restaurant as you will be asked for it and asked to present it at the table.
I would thoroughly recommend it, although the area can be noisy at night times with the party goers which is something the hotel obviously cannot control. Pool areas very nice and pools themselves lovely but rather chilly ( I’m not brave enough to jump in like others and have to ease in inch by inch.
Sheila Wilson May 2017 - You can't actually go into the Ambassador with a scooter though! Charging points used to be at the underground car park but believe the scooters can be charged outside the hotel on the main street. Great hotel but the mobility scooter issue our second time there meant we couldn't return.
Pamela Osborne May 2017 - I have stayed in this Hotel 4 times and it is a great hotel food great staff very friendly and helpful the only fault I would say is having to get up early to queue for a sunbed which is a pain but wouldn't stop me from staying here again.
Tracy Stringfellow May 2017 - Wouldn't stay here again. Had awful time for my surprise birthday treat in April. Was on first floor at back. No balcony just a window. The big fans for the hotel right outside our window woke us up every morning early. Went to reception to change rooms. Didn't want to know. Said they were full but people were checking in all day. Went to see Thomson rep told us it would be £350 to change rooms.
Heatherb Thomas June 2017 - A couple of things if you do stay here. 1) NEVER forget your card when you go down the restaurant, and put it on your table. 2) Evening meals (men) must wear either Bermuda shorts or long trousers - no swimming shorts or very short shorts. 3) Don't take your own drinks to the Restaurant - they have cameras and they have caught people. They have a bar to buy drinks in the restaurant. 4) Your room card, will give you 25% discount off your drinks in the following places:- Westerner Bar, Morgans and the Surprise Attack. Can't wait to come back here in November for the fiesta. ?
