Lovely Hotel by Donna Homer, 15 February 2019 I stayed there last year lovely hotel I didn't get free wine or water. Rooms lovely and big only down fall no balcony but then never in long enough. Would go back again if I wanted old town. ❤️ didn't spoil the holiday lovely hotel good food

Hotel Avenida by Carolyn Payne, 15 July 2018 Stayed here July 2018. I had long wanted to stay here and I wanted to like it.
Good points:
Staff are lovely
Rooms are clean on arrival
Breakfast has a good choice and is at a good time duration
Location location location!
Lovely room/bathroom
The hotel is so noisy, not from noise from the street, but noise inside the hotel; voices, entertainment, banging doors...
2 small lifts meant I often took the stairs.
The cleaners were good, but nothing was moved during any of the cleans of my room.
Bedroom doors didn’t seem that secure.
Overall, I’ve paid the same and preferred other hotels in a similar area. I was disappointed but not by anything that was a deal-breaker. I probably wouldn’t rush back, but if there was an exceptional deal, I wouldn’t discount it.

Brenda Beldon by Admin, 19 February 2018 Stayed there in October. Apart from it being in an excellent position for the old town everything else about it I thought was very average. Wouldn't stay again

Chris English by Admin, 19 February 2018 We have stayed there 20 times. It has been refurbished, rooms are good except a few inside ones, which we’ve had, no view but still lovely. Roof pool is on smaller side but ok, it’s 2 minutes from the beach and old town, 5 minutes stroll into new town. Food is terrific. Something lovely at every meal. Drinks are good price, staff lovely. We going back in June, and October. You sometimes wait for lifts, but you get used to it, and it’s only 6 floors. 😘

Maria Warner by Admin, 19 February 2018 Stayed a few times great location but as we were on a short break (5 nights) we were allocated rooms which were directly beneath the pool and Jacuzzi which meant the motor was going off every 15 minutes from 7 til 7! Horrendous . Happened twice so we didn’t return!!

Derek Sayer by Admin, 17 February 2018 Couple of faults we found when we stayed there
Window between ours and next door was only 5ft away separated with a balcony which both could use when the curtains were open you could look and see everything in the opposite room we had curtains closed all week.
Secondly with the pool being on the roof there was no umbrellas for shade so you cooked it was red hot.
But apart from that lovely hotel food etc and location.
Note the bus that drops you off cannot get to the hotel so you have to walk up the main shopping square on arrival and back down to be picked up.

Mikey Andrew Barrett by Admin, 30 January 2018 Nice hotel great location and clean . The clientele is of the more mature age ( think saga ) and when we were there it was popular with zee Germans and Spanish . Food wise its not great ( my opinion of course) . Great view from the rooftop pool as well .

Peter Bryant by Admin, 21 January 2018 We stay there every time. Wouldn't really bother trying anywhere else. The foods lovely... loads of choice. Lots of older Spanish people so it's nice n quiet if that's what you like. We do !!
And an absolutely perfect location I think !! Just yards from the front, pedestrianised street.... I could go on !!!

Chris English by Admin, 21 January 2018 We’ve stayed there loads of times, back again this year, 3 times last year, we love it. Been to so called better hotels, not a patch. Food terrific, rooms lovely, apart from interior view, but it was still fine. Fab location. 100% recommend. X

Grant Pearson by Admin, 21 January 2018 Stayed here lots of times was refurbished last year, there are better hotels but it’s in a great location for the old town , downside is you cannot book a balcony room in advance and you may not get one so you may have to change rooms mid holiday when one becomes available.

Reviews taken from our forum by Admin, 3 July 2017 Derek Sayer May 2016 - Swimming pool on the roof no umbrellas so no shade, rooms very dated if you get an inside room your window looks straight into the opposite apartment only a balcony dividing rooms we spent the whole week with our curtains closed other than that nice location its sister hotel around the corner the Bristol park is much better.
Michelle Tennant November 2016 - Yes we've been , very nice , food great , rooftop pool , only issue which is a large one for us is , some rooms internal , so no balcony and no way of booking one or the other, they moved us to one after 3 days and a battle at reception each day , therefore wouldn't stay again x
Grant Pearson January 2017 - Hi stayed there about 8 times,it was refurbished last year so the rooms are a lot better now, downside you cannot book a balcony in advance so you may get there and have an inside room, you can change rooms subject to availability, there is a small pool on the roof as well as a bar and terrace area, Food is not bad always fond something you can eat, Entertainment is a bit naff, bingo, line dancing, etc, good location for the old town and a short walk down to the beach, wifi is free and is iffy like all hotels,
Sandra Ali January 2017 - We stop in the avenida apartments which are over the road. And have breakfast in the hotel . . The hotel looks lovely. . But its best asset is the location . Right in heart of all the shops in old town. . And a minutes walk to beach . . So it can be a little noisy there . And the transfer normally drops you off up the road by the madeira hotel as its pedestrianised outside hotel .
Lynn Wood, March 2017 - Stayed at Xmas smashing hotel location etc. Had a balcony with a sea view which was unexpected unlucky if you get an internal room although not many on each floor. They overlook an Internal garden presume a large window but no balcony and probably no sun.
Wouldn't stop me going again for the location to be honest would cope without balcony.
