The rooms are VERY basic and would benefit from a refurbishment. Greasy dust on everything; wardrobes, surfaces, mirror, balcony rail and furniture, door handles and sliding glass balcony doors. Nothing a good clean wouldn't improve. Beds are memory foam and past their best. Deep dip in the centre which makes it hard to get comfortable but there is a 3rd bed in twin room I found slightly better. Fridge comes with room at no extra charge and it cools drinks slightly which is better than nothing but they are certainly not cold. Bathroom is dated and well used but has separate bath and shower cubicles. There is a hairdryer but it has very little power I've got short hair and letting it air dry was quicker. Been a long time since I've brought a hairdryer away on holiday as most hotels provide decent 1s so found this disappointing. There is aircon in the room, however, even when on at lowest setting and doors closed the heat in the room is stifling. How a person is supposed to relax or sleep I do not know. Reception do not hire out fans which was another disappointment so I've resorted to buying 1.
Wifi for the room cost €8.50 for the week and receptionist was reluctant to sell it because it is slow. Told me to use free wifi in communal areas and come back if I still wanted it. I did and it's fine.
The safe cost €31 for the week and you get €10 back at end of week. It's the old type with key and removable barrel. Try as we might we couldn't get the safe to lock and release the key. I got a full refund for that.
We are staying b&b and there are plenty of reasonably priced places nearby for meals and snacks. The food in hotel is again basic. Plenty of cereals and pastries to choose from. Croissants look great but unfortunately were dry. Cooked items were barely warm but then not everyone likes piping hot food or tea/coffee. Like they say "you'll get something to suit you" but do you want that in a 4 star hotel?
This is my honest review on the Gran Bali let me start with positives its really nice inside its clean the staff are nice well some i arrived here on the 9th and may and checked out today now heres the bad bits i was all inclusive so as normal you get a wrist band then a stupid card that had to be shown everytime u wanted a drink ur dinner a bottle of water this hotel is down as a 4 star its def not the food is rank tasteless i have been to better 3 stars i was shocked 1 evening baked apple for dessert now come on this is a 4 star and nothing for kids no chicken nuggets nothing no baked beans honestly hotel has a lot to learn and with being further out from benidorm i expected better lucky enough we ate out most good luck going here also no air con room was like a green house first couple of days was fine with patio door left open but the staff lie someone will be coming to fix it 5 times we waited lol what i will say the hot tub and facilities are good with cracking views but i wont return to the bali
We walked along the front stopping off for coffee or drinks, had tapas in the old town, few beers on the beni beach, got bus back to hotel, then back into beni after dinner on the bus, had a fab time at night, taxi home ten euros, did this every day almost, not a problem, best of both worlds, enjoy xx
Hayley Murphy Never stayed there but I know its really out of the way and there's not much around it
Brian Troop Jacqui took the words out of my mouth, spot on description.
Linda Armstrong We have never stayed too far out, only good thing you are first of the bus and last picked up
George Russell only way you would stay here is All Inclusive. The hotel is lovely def the best room we've stayed in beautiful views, the food was iffy. The Spanish bar/cafe are more expensive than the few British bar/cafe's and not as friendly.
Mike Fox Stayed once, hotel very average, too far from the main nightlife of Benidorm, lovely little bay area with a few. Nice restaurants, if you’re looking for a quiet time it's ideal.
Elaine Jacomb It's ok I liked food but too far out. Entertainment rubbish wouldn't stay there again.
Margaret Millar Ideal for quiet holiday can walk to beach/restaurants, but not for those wanting the Benidorm scene.
Cheryl Peace Don't know what Hotel is like but the bullet lifts are fab what a view from 43 floors up
Paul Rigby The hotel is nice we stayed Dec/Jan last year staff were great, food fab.mwe paid 184.00 for a week all included. f
Tammy Wood Bit far out of the way
George Russell If you want to go to the beach it's half a mile down steep hills ,not to mention coming back .
Christopher Begg If you don't mind walking, fine, the hill back is a ball breaker, food nothing to write home about, pool decent, entertainment lol Take your partners! Speaking German comes in handy! Wouldn't go again.
Rena Glover - Im here right now. lovely hotel.fab breakfast. 3 pools.plenty eating places round about. chemist. supermarket. tobacco shop. bus regular side of hotel into beni. 1-50. taxi around 10euros.
Delilah1976 - The hotel looks very grand from the outside and in reception area but the rooms are quite dated - immaculately clean though!
Lifts were a pain in the bum - had to use the larger lifts due to one of our party being a wheelchair user but so many others use them when it's busy that sometimes waiting upwards of 15 minutes - beat plan is to get one of your party to go down to ground floor and get the lift to your floor so it definitely stops and then just explain if it's busy - the four smaller lifts run really quickly and often empty (this is in the smaller side of the hotel)
Food - bit of a let down, lots of repetition during a fortnight stay for lunch/evening meals - cakes and pastries were great though
Entertainment - nothing to write home about - decent enough augers but far better to be seen.
Location - depends what you are looking for, a bit far out if you are looking for the Benidorm experience - long walk to the beach and to either the shops in the new or old town. Not much choice for any other nearby entertainment without using a taxi/bus - some nice cafes over the road though.
Heather Williams - Stayed there last year hotel nice there are few cafe's directly outside. You can walk to finestrat beach lovely there also. Costs 8euros taxi to old town and 10 euros to new town. There will be extra costs if you want to go out to Benidorm in the evening. There is also a bus stop around the corner of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay there.
Cheryl Day Dockerty - It's in la Cala and a long way from the lively bits lol ! But there is a bus stop right outside and you can get a taxi cheap enough .. Food was nice and staff were great with us ... It was March last year when we went so was full of Spanish oap's some were very rude and just barge you out of the way but most were very nice although we got strange looks when sunbathing in bikinis as they were all in winter clothes ha ha (it was warm and sunny to us ). There wasn't much around there that was open although there are a few bars/ restaurants along the front and there's a lovely beach 5 mins walk from the hotel.
Barbara Cargill - we stayed a few years ago and thougt it had gone downhill looking tired and a bit grubby round the pool area we like to be away from the new town can easy get there on bus and taxi back if you want a mad night or two we now stay in cala finestrat and like the options of quiet and relaxing or out to see drag act or comedian.

Ok I feel I must let people have a realistic review of Gran Bali
Reception area is stunning
Rooms and corridors in the tall building are tired and shabby
Rooms are not cleaned properly ( I left a piece of tissue on the bathroom floor deliberately) it's been there 5 days
Asked for extra pillows 3 times before they arrived
Beds are very hard
Air con virtually useless
Dinner service 19.30 till 22.00 so by the time you get into levante it's 20.30
Don't bother with breakfast it's stone cold
Coffee is disgusting
Unless you get into dinner at 19.30 dinner is just about lukewarm
Asked if o could possibly swap dinner for lunch as I don't like to eat so late
Answer was no but you can purchase lunch
Most money spent on taxis €20 a day as the bus takes 30 min
Would I stay again ? the answer is a firm No.
Kirsty Jinks - We stopped there two weeks ago ... 21st floor new building ... only went B&B ... as I prefer to sample local restaurants ... room was cleaned everyday as I left the card in the door requesting it .. bed changed 3 times and really comfy ( more than adequate in a week as I only change my sheets weekly ) .. clean towels every day ...
I felt breakfast was gorgeous and a good variety of continental , cooked , cereal , pastries , fruits , yogurts , meats ... the coffee in the machine wasn't to my taste so I used the granules provided and they were lovely proper Tea Bags too !! Lol .. hot and cold food replenished when needed ... hot food always piping hot ..
yes it's a fair distance from new town but you'd of know that upon booking ... number 3 bus would take half hour .. number 2 bus around 20 mins for 1.50 € ... going out later was never a problem for us as we didn't leave for Levante till 10pm ... a 10 minute walk if that down to the Bay in Finestrat ... perfect and loads of more than reasonable places to eat ... maybe not a 4 star as but we only paid £600 for a week including flights and transfers we were more than happy ..
Lynne Carroll - We loved it. Not to taxi into town but to enjoy the area and go into Finestrat at night...fab....lovely Spanish atmosphere and Tapas! We enjoyed our grub...thou it was always a noisy busy environment. Our room was fab too. No issues with cleaning etc. We would return. I guess its just pot luck on floor room cleaners etc. In Aug which was hot we had to often get up at night and turn air con off! Ceiling to floor windows right around the corner of room.
Hayley Marshall - We love the grand Bali !! Stayed there last February and going again this February xx we booked the Benidorm palace this time xx we used to walk to the old town and drink sangria in tapas alleys then Jump the bus to the strip and enjoy the bars on the beach front xxx enjoy xxxx
Kathleen Wilkinson -Stayed there twice and we have enjoyed both times not far from la cala beach and cove plenty of bars as well there is a geordie and Irish bars which the ppl are lovely and welcoming (me from the north-east) hotel meals are nice as well it's not all Inc so you pay for your drinks.a lot of Spanish pensioners were there in the hotel when we were something to do with the government paying for a break for them? X
Glyn Williams - We stayed there in September very nice and you can get a bus right out side for one euro 50 go any ware and last bus back is about 3am and one euro 65 taxi is about between 12 to 15 euros
Simon Peers - Have stayed at the Bali a couple of times and loved the area. It's about 5 to 8 minute walk down to the beach but it's downhill, so that means uphill on the way back! Not tragic unless you have difficulty with walking far.
There are lovely cafes and bars and mainly not packed with English, so that was nice. We found a fantastic pizza restaurant on the seafront, as we were on Spanish time we didn't arrive there till after midnight and it was busy but we got a table and had great food and drink, nice and relaxed on a table outside with the sound of the sea! We went back there a few times every time we went to Benidorm.
The hotel is a large generally smart hotel, with nice rooms and not bad food and drink. The second time we stayed we did AI and stayed around the hotel more than we had the previous time. It's not a bad AI but the snacks were a sandwich and bag of crisps, a bit boring, shame no tapas.
Would we go back to Grand Bali - probably yes.
Cheryl Day Dockerty - Me and my cousin loved it there ... it's great for a relaxing break as it's in a quiet area.. the beach is a few minutes away from the hotel and very nice ... the food was fine and the drinks were good too ... very busy hotel but somehow still very relaxing .. rooms are a decent size and comfortable .. we found people friendly enough even tho the majority were Spanish oaps..they were still pleasant and cheerful towards us ..staff were fine too and helpful .. no complaints at all .. there's a bus top outside or a taxi if you want to go into the busy parts of Benidorm .. so you can have the best of both worlds .. it is possible to walk to new town but takes at least an hour and a half.
Gary Eccles - You have the best of both worlds at Gran Bali. Relaxing by day at the Bali and party at night in 'Beni'. It is walkable if that what you like but there are buses and taxis available. If you were steaming drunk every night then the walk wouldn't be advisable. We stayed last year, walked to the square with pits stops along the way then taxi back. Booked again, going in 11 weeks.
Joanne Plumbley - If you want a quiet holiday with some lovely beachside bars and restraunts then yes. If you are going to party and like new town it's not for you. I stay in that area but I normally only have 1 trip to Old Town and I couldn't care if I never went to New town again. In the summer the buses run till about 3am and start again at 6am.
Susan Akerman - Stayed last May for a week and loved it. Food was good and pool area lovely. Great views from rooms. Yes it's a bit far out but 10 euros taxi into new town between 3/4 of you is cheap enough. I think you get the best of both worlds quiet during day and new town in the evenings if you want. Will Defo be going back.
Good morning everyone. I have been here for a week on my own and really enjoyed my self.
Stayed at the Gran Bali hotel and rate it highly. The rooms are Clean and airy, the food is excellent and the staff are hard working and courteous. I noticed the ease of access for prams and wheelchairs and people with families are happy, as are the many pensioners. The entertainment is varied and enjoyable and the tour of the hotel is recommended. You go up to the viewing terrace in a glass elevator on the 43rd floor for €2 on the tour, and I think its €6 separately.
It is a bus ride into the main town or you can walk along Poniente beach if you feel like it. With boat trips and days out I found plenty to do. I hope to be back again and I can see why people love Benidorm. There is definitely something for everyone.
