Hello just thought I would post a review for las Torres apartments.
Firstly we have stayed at these apartments over the years many times and they have been great (for what they cost) we always use them as a great location and very spacious rooms having 4 children these have always been perfect for us.
We stayed here in February and didn’t have a great experience with Fincas Benidorm (key collection) but thought we would try again this time in case it was a one off having had no problems in the past,
key collection this time and in February was not made clear on the accommodation voucher, the telephone number for the property is an old telephone number for the previous caretaker who has now retired so isn’t obliged to help which is understandable. Again this happened this week and in February which we reported to fincas and alpha rooms to which we thought would be resolved for this weeks stay, surprise surprise it wasn’t, and arriving in the middle of horrendous rain and thunder storms I had to go all the way to Buena vista apartments to collect the keys. The rest of the family waited in Vincent’s (triangle bar) who were very helpful and accommodating. The key collection was quick and easy but just not convenient! On two occasions now we’ve had to do this once in the rain (this week) and one early hours of the morning where the rest of my family and small children had to wait outside the building, which isn’t fair.
The apartments are not being looked after, they were always clean, and although basic was all working, this time the slats in the sofa and beds were snapped, bedside cabinet drawers had no bottoms in, it was a Saturday when we arrived, so couldn’t have anything done until the Monday when the beach office opened, however they didn’t get sorted the whole 8 days we were there, the staff in the office were very rude, on the few occasions we went in.
we were advised to take back keys on the Saturday, due to leaving on a Sunday which we did but then they decided this wasn’t the correct procedure and to go to buena vista apartments for our deposit, however we refused as the T&Cs stated we collected from Fincas Benidorm, so then had to go back at 12 to collect, to then be told, they need the receipt which we had left with them on the earlier visit, they advised we hadn’t, luckily my partner seen it on a desk and got it, they then handed over the deposit. Will again be complaining to alpha rooms as i would have thought reporting the key collection and incorrect phone numbers for the booking would have been resolved by now. And also the key collection isn’t made clear!
The room was clean and as always very spacious, great balcony, good kitchen facilities. However the rest of the furniture was broken and in need of replacing.
We unfortunately after many years staying here be choosing else where. Which is a shame as a perfect location, they really did suit us before our two poor experiences this year. We will definitely make sure what ever accommodation we choose in future is not managed by fincas Benidorm and has a reception on site.
They were very luck to keep us as customers as the rooms at one time were only 45€ per week which obviously was very cheap, but in line with how basic the rooms are, over the last few years they have gone up and up, last week we paid 330€ which I know is good value for a room but you do have to remember just how basic these rooms are. And please remember when dealing with fincas Benidorm staff that they speak perfect English when offering money or bookings, but then when you need help or your deposit back they’re response is “not possible, not possible I don’t understand” and they don’t understand a word you say, and on another note it’s 45€ to hire the television remote, having looked at several reviews online since getting home this afternoon there seems to be lots who are of the same opinion.
Thanks for reading. 🙂
firstly we read the reviews on these apartments and decided to turn up with an open mind.
I do however like to leave a frank and honest review and everything below said we would stay here again.
They are not up a massive hill and no where near the top of cardiac hill as stated in some reviews. yes they are up a bit of a hill but unless your mobility is really poor then it really shouldnt be an issue..neither of us are classed as fit and managed easily. The easiest way was straight up the side of the hotel Nereo. There are 2 ways into the gated apartments one behind the piccasso on a lower level but had about 15 steps and one around the bend ( which is a bit steeper) but has no steps.
We knew where to pick the keys up and as we arrived late at night arranged the transfer to drop us off at the Buenavista Apartments. we paid £100 deposit and then caught a taxi to our apartment at a cost of 6 euros. we walked back to the beunavista when we left as its all down hill and took around 17minutes and were not fast walkers.
On arrival at our apartment the smell of stale cigarette smoke was terrible but after leaving the windows and doors open for a while it soon went.
On the surface all looked clean and tidy though there was a smell of urine in the bathroom so we did go out and buy some toilet cleaner..but kitchen was clean new microwave and fridgefreezer.
There was limited equipment in the kitchen …NO kettle, toaster, bread board or knife. No washing up bowl and the plug didnt fit the sink so we had to be a bit inventive. theres no oven so only stove top pans with 2 ring hob, there was no jugs or bowls to cook things in microwave though there was enough plates cereal bowls and glasses. 6 cups and saucers but no mugs.
The apartment had 2 bedrooms both with 2 single beds, matresses themselves were quite comfortable but one bed had a broken slat and all squeeked when you move on them so no hanky panky and no pivacy as neither bedroom door closed as the beds were too long and obstructed the door ways. There was lots of coat hangers in both wardrobes.
The pool area has no sun beds but part of it is in the sun all day, and it always seemed clean.
There were some major cracks in some of the walls but a few hundred euros spent on these apartments and they could be a lot nicer
The towels were a bit thin but unless you stay in a luxury place they are mostly the same, bedding was clean lots of blankets for the colder night and there was 2 heaters in the utility room.
There was a safe in one bedroom but we never used it. You need to rent a control for the TV as its on a satelite box but ours was tuned to uk BBC1 so never bothered we just watched that.
The number 11 bus runs from out the front and i think goes to the bus station via avenida Mediteraneo.
Out the front of the apartment turn left and there is a huge supermarket about 4/500 yards away so close and easy for groceries.
The apartment seemed to be pretty secure the utility room has bars at the window so door can be left open all time the balconies are not ajoined so again we felt quite safe leaving the patio door and bedroom door open at night. The same with the window in the other bedroom.
There was lots of boiling hot water and the shower was fab.
Overall this was a late booking and very cheap we paid around £500 all in for flights Bags and transfers ( at least we would have if Monarch and the French hadnt messed us about. So you really do get what you pay for and we would go back if it was as cheap.
They were doing work in the foyer knocking out the old reception desk and re-tiling the walls so was a bit noisy at times which no one told us about but we booked with A1travel so cant complain about it to them and they were almost finished when we left so should be fine now.
Hazel – I’ve stayed in this appt many times ,,all 2 bedroom at the top of the road at the back of Magic Rock gardens, it’s next door to Piccaso just round the corner & up a short hill ,
Nice clean appt , big balcony ,,big rooms ,small Pool area , has got a pool bar but very rarely is it open,
You have to pick your key up at Beunavista as there only a porter on duty , morning 9 till 1 pm , them 4 till 8 ,PM,,, the quickest way to get up & down into resort is out the pool & down some steps ,takes u out the back way , then u just walk strait down to beach or round the corner to where the white horse & Plaza are , both good places. For a drink & meal, a couple of street away u got Calle Londres , lots of cheap eating & drinking places there,, about a 15 min walk to Square.
Eamonn Ryan – don’t go there worst place I’ve stopped at in Benidorm ….no reception. had to go to the other side of beni to get the key…wouldn’t let us keep the room on…told us there was a shower to use…which was a joke only had cold water. never gave us clean bedding or a change of towels. even had to buy are own toilet paper…stay away.
Linda Oshaughnessy – apartments are fine…..they leave extra sheets n towels for u got everything u need key collection is from Beunavista after hours nice and quiet no complaints from us 60 something yrs old…managed the hill no problem.
