We stayed in Maryciel last November. Really bad reviews but we (group of 4 ranging from 50-61) found it fine. Basic but clean enough. Hot water and comfy beds. Apparently it was bought over in January and has now been refurbished. We arrived today and people are sunbathing by the pool. I tried to get booked but it was full up. I’m going to pop along this weekend and have a look. 😀 But even before it was refurbished, we would’ve went back.
It had a bad reputation as the Sunsea block….changed it name to Maryciel…it’s a total stag & Hen place a quick read of the reviews would have flagged that up…you pay cheap you get cheap…only good thing it’s got going for it..very central for the night
Stayed there once never again x
I stayed there in Jan for a long weekend, I thought the staff were very nice, we did need a heater as the apartments were cold, we had a 2 bedroom my son had a 1 bedroom his apartment wasn’t as cold as ours, would stay again that’s my only fault , I hate the cold lol
Stayed there at New Year.. dated.. yes.. basic… yes however we found them fine. Would never stay there in summer as no air con but found them perfectly fine for a wee cheap break.. we are barely in the apartment anyway and couldn’t care about the soft furnishings – i don´t go on holiday to admire the decor lol.. Would go back for the 4th time no bother.. holiday is what u make it, not all about the interior design!! ps..the staff are lovely, as are the cleaners 👍👍👍
I stayed there last week. Location is spot on,all balconies have sea views,24 hr reception who we found friendly and helpful. Rooms are a great size by very dated and very tatty which I think is why reviews are so bad, bedding and towels were clean. It can be bit noisy sometimes at night but I would stay again as it’s a great location and really only a place to sleep and it was very cheap. It’s right behind the rockstar pub, just off main road so we didn’t have any bother walking back at night. As with Benidorm or anywhere back home would always recommend not walking home alone at night x
Well wot a day we had yesterday booked a room maryciel apartments as we wanted to see Jamaica 🇯🇲 road at rio park ,Didn’t take our passport’s as didn’t think we would need them ( we did ) luckily my hubby had his drivers licence ,
That place is disgusting on seeing the room I went straight back down & asked for a refund the guy on reception didn’t even argue gave it straight back how can they rent theses places on booking .com, DO NOT BOOK MARYCIEL
Does contain some swearing
Please note Safety Deposit boxes are provide in these apartments they are in the reception area. Please use them, if you dont you will not be covered by your insurance as you will not have used all due diligence.
A friend booked 4 of us in the ‘Maryciel Apts’ behind ‘Jumpin Jacks’ bar on ‘the yellow brick road’ as its commonly known. I had my jeans robbed off a member of staff (the night receptionist) with nearly £800 in, my driving licence and bank card, also the cheeky bastards had my shirt n socks off whilst the 4 of us were asleep in the rooms. The lady manager in the morning when i complained about it was very rude and abrupt towards me and fobbed me off. Not interested !! I asked her if the cctv worked. NO, was the answer. There are no safe’s in the rooms either for security. It alleged has had a bad name for years, apparently for people getting burgled even whilst sleeping according to bar owners who I know I the area. Word of advice: STAY CLEAR OF THE ‘MARYCIEL APTS’ !! We live ‘n’ learn !!
Me and 6 of my friends have just come bk from there just over a week ago we stayed there last year and stayed again this year they are very basic apartments but clean the location is great right on the strip and 5 mins from the beach balcony is big with sea view all we used it for was to shower get changed and sleep the terrace bar opposite is fab for food would deffo stay there again like I said we have stayed last 2 years very cheap x
Extremely dirty we had to buy bleach and clean before unpacked also very dated and freezing cold in winter also man on checking in was rude and obnoxious to us. In my opinion the worst apartments we have stayed in Benidorm . Also I don’t agree on location being great yes good during daytime hours but at night walking back alone I found terrifying and dangerous. But as I said that’s just my opinion. I certainly would not recommend them
I’ve stayed here a few times booked to stay here over Christmas rooms are a bit dated but clean kitchen only has one electric hob but you have a microwave the really great thing about it is the location its right behind the strip and close to the beach.
Stayed there 2 weeks ago with 10 other girls for 5 nights.. We all thought it was great for what you need in Benidorm . Sea view balcony, kitchen with fridge etc & excellent location! Couple min walk to beach and bars
We stayed there.. cheap n cheerful. Pool is small. Not bad location not too noisy unless you have a stag group staying
Very basic scruffy even .. no hot water after 5 .. and no lights worked either ..and also beggars and prostitute central .. not good for kids ..glass in pool my daughter split foot open .. they didn’t even clean pool
Lydia Rasin – Maryciel, clean basic I found it ok. 1 lift to 13 (I think)floors . We went for hen weekend in June. Typical budget groups hens stags we were tame the group of about 20 stags not so. lol. sunbeds rubbish mainly broken but after seeing the stags chuck them around not surprised they don’t replace them. €50 pp room deposit. 1 receptionist goes up and down in lift to check rooms before gives deposit back one guy got 2 bags rubbish chucked at him that they had left ? once in bin he got deposit back. Safes small and in entrance reception area big enough to fit passports and documents in. For how long we were in the rooms I was happy as we were at the beach all day.
Donna Moore – We have just stayed in maryciel and they are basic but clean and very central to everything 5 mins from the beach and right on the strip would deffo stay there again.
Sean Paterson – Maryciel are very central. Located just behind jumping jacks. Very basic but they are fine for a cheap getaway. Just don’t expect the ritz lol. I’ve stayed there a few times and would go back. Bit cold in winter but reception give you heaters if needed.
Beds are a bit hard, but it was clean, 24hr reception, and ok for us as a base. The lift is slow and the pool is freezing but I’d probably stay there again.
Clare Ball – I stayed here last July would not recommend it at all the pool was filthy . Rooms need a lot of upgrading bathroom disgusting no air con ,cock roaches.
Emma Shaw – Just came back from there and was pleasantly surprised…..would have rebooked for October but they were full….its basic but clean plenty of space in the rooms.
Donna Oliver – going to stay here for third time in September, clean basic and very central, 2 good pubs round the corner for your eating needs, Wooky Hollow n Yorkshire Pride, little shop for your milk etc just across the road.
Stephen Angus – We stayed here at the start of May, think it was like £50 pound for 3 nights! We went for a stag do and it was great! Rooms are basic but clean and you are literally on the strip as soon as you walk out of the hotel! We had 3 stag party’s and 2 hen party’s there while we stayed so if your looking for somewhere to relax i it might not be for you!
Debi Suddons – I have just come back from staying there, clean basic ,cheap cheerful and right on top of everything, no complaints from me. When I go away I don’t go to stay in the room all day, its got kitchen. bedrooms. bathroom.living area what more do you need .
Donna Louise Henson – I’m staying there for third time in a year it’s basic but it’s clean and there’s a shower it’s not the ritz but it’s also somewhere to sleep u walk out down the path and u are on the Main Street!
Leanne Dent – Me and my mam stayed there in feb kitchen is unusable the beds wer hard so had to put sofa bed on top but if you are hardly in and just using to sleep then its ok we didnt use pool as it was cold tramps living over the way in shopping centre so dont walk bk alone but they never bothered us the safes r at reception downstairs which was good the shower was dead hot though and it was clean ! Our fridge was icey cold but leaked everywhere or was warm so we didnt really use xxx its right next to strip if they put a bit money into it be the best self catering in beni, ideal location.
