Brilliant hotel very clean, nice food and lovely staff.
Stayed there many times 😎
Lots of bars round there as well.
DebbieandGarry Pye My parents stayed here a couple of times and loved the place, said it was clean and the food was always good, only down side for them was the gate you could use during the day was locked at night and it was quite a bit further for them to walk round the corner at night to get in, other than that they would give it 8/10 x
Lisa McGuinness We (2 adults & 1 child) stayed here November 2014 for a week (after fiestas)...
Room very clean & comfy (plenty of space for the "3rd bed").
Staff were pleasant and polite. Especially the guy on reception who checked us in, he was very happy when we spoke Spanish to him and spent a while chatting (in Spanish) to our 6 year old son!!
The hotel isn't right in the thick of it, but only a 5-10 minute walk to the main entertainment "centre" (ie Morgans, Carousel area), and there's a few kebab shops on the way back to the hotel to break up the walk home at night wink emoticon .....
TV only seemed to have Spanish telly (but you can change the language).
No kettle or fridge in the room (although you can hire a fridge).
WIFI in public areas great and free, you pay to activate it in the rooms but it doesn't work very well frown emoticon
Food was a bit hit n miss in my opinion (we were half board), breakfast was ok (plenty of cooked and chilled choice), but the evening meal never resembled what the Menu outside the dining room said, and I struggled to find enough to fill me (hence the homeward kebab! lol)
The gate by the pool was handy for daytime use, but this is locked at nighttime so you had to walk round to the front door (not a problem for us though).
Entertainment wise all we stayed in for was the Parrot Show one night....
They were relaying the floor in the dining room while we were there so half the room was closed off, therefore it became a bit of a task getting seated at night, with people who got there a bit after it opened having to queue up for seats.....
All in all a nice, clean, friendly hotel, in a good location, and good value for money..... 9/10
Carol Richardson Great Hotel .
Russell Bown Stayed there in September 2012, the hotel is good value for money, nice food friendly staff etc. A bit of a walk to the beach but we used to catch the bus down to the old town and use the beach there (not so rocky getting into the sea). The front gate was great during the day, but at night the entrance was around the corner, it was quite dark and a few elderly residents were nervous of using it after one lady had her bag snatched. nice hotel shame about the entrance 8/10
Julie Handley - This hotel is a little gem. Lovely clean rooms, good food, friendly staff. Just 5 - 10 minutes walk from the main entertainment area so we could get a good nights sleep. Air con is very quiet which is a big bonus as I am a light sleeper.
The free WiFi isn't very good so it's worth paying the €15 a week for the wifi that works in the room. I would recommend this hotel to others and will definitely stay here again.
Here is my review. Some of my comments have already been mentioned by previous reviewers but I have left them in here for the sake of completeness.
Carol Andrew - I stayed in the Hotel Regente for just one night in February 2016. I chose this hotel as I was in Benidorm to have dinner with friends at Paradiso restaurant and then to go to Rock and Roll House and the location for these was ideal. It was very much a last minute booking as I didn’t decide to stay overnight until the morning of the day I was checking in.
There is an entrance to the hotel from the main road for which you need an access code. This is only open from 9am to 6pm. At other times you have to walk around the block to get in via the hotel’s main entrance. This was not a major problem. Apart from only being available during the day this main road entrance would not be suitable for wheelchair users or someone with a pram or pushchair as you have to climb up several steps.
The member of staff (Juan) on reception was very friendly and helpful although I did feel that, at busy times, they really needed a second person there. In addition to checking people in and out and answering guests questions Juan was also having to answer the telephone.
There are only two lifts and the wait can be quite long at busy times.
To get to the pool area from the ground floor you need to go down a flight of external stairs. There is disabled access by going through the dining room on the lower floor. It was easy to get out because the door has a push bar to open. You need to use your room card in the machine to get back in. Unfortunately this machine was not working and we had to get someone to open the door for us from inside. Good thing there were people in there.
The bedroom was clean and bright with two single beds, a small sofa and a desk. Unlike some hotels there were plenty of electric sockets in the room.
There is a room safe for which you need to get a key from reception. It is €2.50 a day plus €10 deposit. A fridge can also be rented for €4 a day.
There is free WiFi in the ground floor reception area. If you want WiFi in your room it is €5 a day. I took the in-room WiFi option (there is a machine in reception where you purchase this) I found the speed sufficient for my needs of reading and sending emails.
The weather was unusually cold the night I stayed and I found the heating in the room was not really warm enough even when set to maximum. This, of course, would not be an issue for most stays.
In the bathroom there were no toiletries - just a liquid soap/shower gel dispenser which served both the wash basin and the bath/shower. It was a bit difficult to use when in the shower as you had to open the curtain to get to the soap. I can’t imagine how you would manage if you were in the bath. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries (including soap) or buying them when you first arrive.
The only meal I had in the hotel was breakfast. The cooked breakfast was good apart from the bacon. The fried eggs were nicely cooked and not too greasy as can be the case in some hotels. There was even fried bread available. Considering the hotel caters for mainly English guests it would have been nice to have English style bacon. What they served was small strips of fried fat.
Normal checkout time is 12 noon. Subject to availability you can request late checkout (6pm) for €25 per room.
Overall I was very pleased with Hotel Regente. I thought it good value for money with friendly and helpful staff. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in this area of Benidorm.
David Smith - I have stayed here 2 or 3 times. Staff always friendly, rooms always clean. A few English channels on tv including a couple of sky sports. Food not bad. Some nights a bit bland but could say that about most hotels. Pool area nice but not massive. Entertainment in main season fairly good. When it's outside the sound quality isn't very good. Would stay here again.
Beryl Baker - Stayed in March for our golden wedding everything was spot on food was lovely about 10 min or so walk to Morgans etc . Went out most nights but saw the Grease show which was brilliant , would defiantly stay there again.
Linda Hartley - Stayed here twice nice clean rooms food very nice don't forget to use hand wash before you go in dining room ! sun bath on roof away from children if your on your own! nice and quiet ! box by the door to put all your leftover items in when you leave good idea !
Christine Stones - We were also there in March an loved it.Good food, lovely staff an good entertainment which is rare in some hotels.People say walls are thin but we must be deaf or had good neighbours we were never disturbed .
John Payne - Stayed in march this year the staff were excellent room service very good walls paper thin frightened to fart too loudly the gate by pool onto main road very handy (coded) but not available after dark no fridges or kettles in room but could be different if you're not all Inc all in all a very acceptable hotel I would rate it 7/10
Lisa Booth - Stayed here in January on AI bases nice clean basic hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, food enjoyable, I found the rooms to be a little on the small side but ample for 2 adults nice pool and outside space ( wasn't busy in January and we didn't use the pool) lovely staff very helpful free WiFi in reception only 10/15 minutes walk to main strip and beach in perfect location for us close to tropical bar and the rock and roll house no complaints would definitely recommend this hotel 7 /10
Ben Phoenix Simpson - Amazing..was there in April, very clean, food excellent as are staff..7 minute walk to strip or beach, only 9 floors so not huge and packed, great views if not pool side, no kettle, €4 a day for a fridge, safe hire available, down side, wifi free in reception is naff but its cheap to activate it in your room and its great, walking back at night is hard work as you have to pass the indoor market and get molested by the many prostitutes, you can upgrade to all inclusive for €17 a day, got many photos if required.
Paul Unsworth - Stayed for one night in May, arrived late, just after midnight, the hotel receptionist made us very welcome and gave us two welcome bags (sandwich, yoghurt, apple and a bottle of water) he was extremely pleasant, room was very clean and quite modern, thats all i can tell you as we moved to Torre Colon apartments next day.
Shell Handley - Stayed here in May 2015. Lovely hotel. Rooms are fine, although a little small for us because we had a cot taking up some of the floor space. Bathroom and balcony both a really good size.
Pool area is lovely. Separate children's pool, and a jacuzzi built into the main pool. Plenty of sun beds and a nice pool bar serving snacks throughout the day. Evening entertainment is pretty good and drinks prices are very reasonable, offering 2 for 1 for a couple of hours each day.
Plenty of choice in the restaurant, and never a struggle to find somewhere to sit.
Hotel is in a lovely location, far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get a good nights sleep, but still close enough to walk to in a small amount of time.
There are shops opposite the hotel, and plenty of bars, restaurants and takeaways. Beach is a 5-10 minute walk on the flat.
I would definitely stay here again.
Keith Waspe - Just arrived home after a weeks stay half board.Good hotel, rooms were spotless-towels changed everyday. Friendly staff. Lots of sunbeds around the good sized pool area(there's a sun terrace too).Food was good. A small downside was they let groups of 4 or more stay, luckily we left as bigger groups arrived. In all yep, we'd stay there again, in fact we've booked for September.
Lorraine Russell - Absolutely lovely hotel best we've stayed in staff are great food is great entertainment night and day very clean lovely family atmosphere WiFi free in the reception, payment for rest of the hotel we Have already re-booked near all bars shop's short walk to the Beach I Very highly recommend this hotel.
Les Mott - Stayed at this hotel five times - for me the most friendly and genuine staff they cannot do enough - the food the cleanliness is top drawer. It's a sound down to earth excellent hotel. Me and my partner are staying here again in October. Cannot recommend it enough !!
10 out of 10 - genuine score ?
Wendy Green - Hi stay at the Regente hotel for a long weekend
Firstly I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is spotlessly clean . only one downfall why o why do hotels put the TV on the walls you could hear next doors TV all I had to do was watch it with the sound off . all so the loo and shower could be heard. The Regents hotel needs to sound proof their rooms big time . but overall had a pleasant stay .
Lloyd Reynolds - We've stayed here 3 or 4 times and found it a lovely hotel with a great location ! ,10 min stroll to the beach + 5 minutes to some great bars like rock + roll house + tropical bar all in all a good choice.
Lynda Eileen Porter - Stayed here numerous times no complaints. Good entertainment programme in hotel if you don't feel like going out. There's bars and shops near hotel and if you fancy a walk it's only about 10/15 mins to the square.
Mystery Shopper - Dear All.
Myself and partner stayed at the Regente Hotel for a week, from the 21/03/2017-28/03/2017.
The hotel is well positioned and just a short walk from the beach(5-6mins). Upon our arrival we were greeted by pleasant reception staff, and dealt with quickly, and given the room keys (flash card), We were also advised that a meal was available in the lower restaurant.
The facilities within the hotel are very good, the room was spacious with its own balcony, overlooking the rear mountains, with lovely early morning sunrises. These were serviced daily with clean towels and at least two bed changes for that week.
The hotel has two bars,a main lounge bar and a pool bar staffed throughout the day. The pool area is a sun trap until the the sun goes down in the evening.
For those on a Half board/full board basis the choices are very good from a complete salad bar including cold meats, salami, cheeses, and fish dishes, to at least a choice of 6/7 hot dishes with all that goes along with them.
I was well impressed. The staff overall were very friendly and cheerful.
The only downside i found was the entertainment at the start of the evening, to be very poor,if you like Open the Box or Play your Cards Rights, for an hour just not for me with terrible trashy prizes, probably bought by the compere out of his own money and not subsidised by the hotel chain and the happy hour being from 9pm-10 pm very poor.
Other than that I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to book a holiday in Benidorm as an ideal place to stay from the sole traveller to the a family with children.
Gaynor Richards - Stayed here in April and it was 17€ per day to upgraded to AI
