The most comfortable beds and pillows we have ever had. It is in a quiet area above Poniente beach with an easy walk into the old town. The food was tasty with lots of variety. We look forward to returning

Carol Andrew, 2015 - Benilux Park Hotel is on the Poniente side of Benidorm. If you want to go to the bars and restaurants in the ‘new’ town you will need to take a taxi.

We live near Benidorm and stayed here for 3 nights in April to be with my husband's sister from UK. We did not want a 'party' hotel but somewhere more suitable for a mature couple and a bit more Spanish in style. This hotel fitted the bill nicely.

Most of the guests were older Spanish couples or groups but it would also be suitable for families.

All rooms overlook the pool area. The only 2 minor negatives were that there was no full length mirror in the room and there were no electric sockets in the bedroom - we had to charge our telephone and laptop in the bathroom.

The buffet style meals were more to Spanish tastes which suited us. We could always find something we liked. The salad selection was especially good. The only negative we found in the dining room was that there were only two coffee machines which meant there was a long queue for coffee at busy breakfast times.

Overall we found the hotel excellent value for money. The staff nearly all spoke English and were helpful and friendly which made for a very pleasant stay.

We have booked to stay there again in October.

    Carol Andrew, December 2015 -

OUR SECOND STAY AT HOTEL BENILUX PARK

As I said in my original review, following our stay at Hotel Benilux Park in April, we had booked to stay there again in October. Unfortunately, just 3 days before our planned visit alpharooms, who we had booked through, informed us that this hotel was overbooked and tried to move us to another hotel which would not have been suitable for us (my husband has mobility problems). So we cancelled our October booking with alpharooms and booked ourselves into another hotel.

When my husband and I were looking for a hotel in Benidorm for a few days at Christmas we thought we would try the Benilux Park again – this time booking with them direct.

We had liked this hotel in April but our second visit over Christmas was a bit disappointing. The room we had was on the first floor and instead of overlooking the pool (they claim that all rooms overlook the pool) our outlook was of the roof of the bar below and some very ugly pipes.

This was disappointing but not a major problem as we were unlikely to be wanting to spend a lot of time on our balcony in December.

On the first night my husband found two (live) cockroaches in the bathroom. He disposed of them down the toilet. We reported this to reception but all they did was give him an aerosol spray. We felt that someone should have come to the room to do this and not expect us to do it.

Another problem was heating in the rooms – or rather lack of it. The day we arrived (23rd December) we were quite cold in the afternoon. We asked reception how to turn on the heating. The answer they gave was “the heating doesn’t come on until 6pm”. It did indeed come on then but went off again at 9pm. In the morning bedroom (and bathroom) heating was only on from about 6am to 9am. I dread to think what it would be like if it got really cold.

Following our previous stay we told the hotel we thought the rooms needed a full length mirror and an electric socket in the bedroom. They told us they would be making these changes ‘soon’. More than 7 months later there was still no long mirror or electric socket.

On our previous stay we liked the buffet food but this time it was not very good – poor selection and not very good quality. Maybe it was because the hotel was completely full for Christmas and they were unable to cope.

As before there were only two coffee machines at breakfast. One morning I had to queue for 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee.

The staff were generally still very helpful and friendly but we got the impression that they were having difficulty coping with so many people.

I think the difference between our two stays here was partly because it was Christmas and they were over-stretched.

If anyone is thinking of staying here do not get a room on the first floor and do not go if the weather is cool. I would also suggest you just go bed and breakfast and not eat there for dinner.

Claire Laughton - March 2016 - It's nice and quiet , Poniente beach is 5 mins away. Foods nice , rooms are spotless. It does cater for Spanish/ German / Belgian more than British. We went out at night as there wasn't any entertainment at night really.

Nicola Ebony Valentine June 2016 - We have just come back from here, our holiday was very cheap and suited us , rooms were nice , air con food was ok not that bad, pool was ok too but we had a large amount of cash stolen from our safe which was locked with a key and have no way of proving it, this alone would prevent me going back.

Mo O'Brien Simpson - Stayed there last September dated rooms bathroom very small food is mainly Spanish which I loved you have to stand in line for sunbeds from about 7.30 they dont open the main door until 9.30 just to get a sunbed just not enough to go around and pool only small I think its mainly for adults but just my opinion

Nicola Ebony Valentine- We stayed at The Benilux Park Hotel 4th June to 12th June 2016 for a very reasonable £300 each including full board,we arrived in the wee hours to be greeted with a meal laid on for u. Hotel nice looking rooms comfortable, with a tv showing itc, nice balcony with pool view.Meals not too bad ,you can find something to eat and the same sort of food as is served in the restaurants in Benidorm .on the Wednesday we had enjoyed a day by the pool,(you have to get there early to secure a lounger) we returned to our room ,got ready to go out and it was then I discovered my money £350 worth of euros had completely disappeared from the locked safe(the type with a key) we searched the room ,but to no avail.we went down to reception and reported this,The Manager Rosa De Mateo came out, firstly blindly refusing this was possible as according to her all staff have been there for years and there is only one key per safe( what happens if you lose the key) I don't believe this, because we were getting nowhere we asked for the police, she blocked us every way, by saying there was no one there who would speak English then giving us false directions to the station which was pointed out by a receptionist, then saying the police station would be closed changing her mind twice saying first it would be 9pm then it would be 8pm,she said we could walk there the receptionist pointed out it would be a taxi ride, she did not want us to see the police, obviously.seeing I was getting nowhere and getting more agitated at this horrific situation as this was all my money for the holiday I demanded to see a Thomson rep, she called for and one came out,we sat with him for some time giving our account as he wrote it in a report, we were downstairs by this point for 2- 3 hours away from our room. The rep asked her about the police station and she said it would reopen the following day at 9am, The rep said she would need to take us and act as translator. she refused saying we could get our own taxi the rep looked visibly shocked,we then invited the rep to our room to show him.my husband went back into the safe and discovered a cheap pair of sunglasses I had bought there in a soft pouch (not something I would put away in a locked safe!!) there inside was a wad of notes I was elated and felt so stupid and very relieved,we thanked the rep I went straight down to reception to tell them and apologied profusely. it was only afterwards when I counted the money, I realised £70 worth was missing, and I knew exactly how much money I had.we knew there was not a damn thing we could do to prove this and insurance would not cover this as how can you prove it? Sadly it put a real dampener on the 2nd half of our holiday.

Donna Baker October 2016 - We stopped in Benelux old town (where the Spanish go older ones) but for a base it brilliant clean friendly and the food delicious . 20 minute walk to Rock bar and bars 45 minute walk to new part lovely area lots bars.

    Hazel Wood -

I stayed here in February 2017 , nice hotel but in old town so quite a walk to the new town if you want the night life. There are some nice bars in old town about 10 minute walk from hotel . All rooms face pool high floor best you can see the sea . Food ok always plenty of choice .

Martin Probee April 2017 - It's a very Spanish hotel and most of the guests are elderly, over 70. So no noise at night. It's about 30 minutes from the English bars - get a taxi back, it's quiet at night. 5 minutes from the old town, which was why I stayed here. I like it there. The foods not bad and I got a bottle of wine with dinner - I was on half board plus. And you get off the airport transfer bus first, well I did both times I stayed here.

Mark Roberts - My elderly mother and my brother stayed there, it is a nice hotel. Martin said it is about 30 minutes from the English bars but actually the Rope & Anchor is just round the corner and is British, there are also other British bars close by. There are a number of Brits stay there along with Belgians, Dutch and Spanish. You get British TV in the rooms as well as French, Dutch and I think German (or you did). Very convenient for the new Burger King if you don't like the food lol.

Pat Ayling, April 2017 - We are at the Benilux now and loving it. Plenty of sun beds and a real family feel. Staff are brilliant and such a choice of food you can,t possibly go hungry. There are lots of nationalities here but most speak English and till the end of April all Thomson guests get a free bottle of water or wine with lunch and dinner. We will be returning soon.

Donna Foreman - It's a lovely spotless hotel I stayed a couple of yrs ago but I prefer the new town where all the night life is but I must say that on in all the yrs I've been Going to Benidorm the Benelux has the most comfiest beds and pillows the only problem we had was there wasn't enough sockets in the room but even the food is lovely. Must say though the pool doors are locked an open at 9 where there's a rampage of ppl fighting for loungers but that was in the June

Wendy Jones, May 2017 - We've just got back from there it's a bit out the way from the new town it's also quiet and relaxing, food is lovely, beautiful hotel, rooms nice although no hair dryer, fridge, in the rooms, all rooms face the pool. It may be the time of the year as there was quite a lot of Spanish, German older people who we found were quite rude but as there were 6 of us it didn't really matter it's probably about half an hour stroll , or you can get the no 2 bus from the Main Street.

Pat Ayling, May 2017 - We stayed there 6 weeks ago and can't wait to go back. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are great but take a kettle if you want a cuppa in your room. It,s 5 minutes to Poniente beach and amongst lots of shops.

Hotel benilux!!!! can't believe the travel agents told me this was a child friendly hotel it's full of rude ignorant Spanish even the staff Are rude! And the food well if like chips and gravy you'll survive! Coz that's all to the Spanish taste to grate for Spanish but utterly rubbish for English tourists don't book through Dawson and Sanderson they will tell u anything to flog a holiday
