  • Depends who serves you

    Firstly the positives. We hired a good solid well used scooter for my mum, which was ideal for us. Transaction was good, the older Spanish gentleman was very amenable and we left happy. The scooter did its job apart from cutting out occasionally which we had been warned about. When passing we asked if we could swap it and the two younger lads were very helpful, it was swapped without fuss. Both scooters worked as expected and were a great help for my mum.
    Our issue came when returning the scooter. As we were leaving early on Sunday morning we arranged to keep the scooter as late as possible on the Saturday evening for my mums mobility. I contacted the store via WhatsApp to enquire what time I could keep it until and was told 7pm. That evening at 6pm I got a call from the store, the older Spanish gentleman, he asked where the scooter was as he was closing. I told him I had a message saying 7pm, he said, no I close at 6.30pm. I will be waiting.
    I dashed to the store and arrived at 6.34pm to find it all shuttered. I called the number with no answer. Shortly after the man appeared and pointed to his watch and said 6.30pm. I tried to show him the message but he walked off saying 'I say 6.30pm, i dont care what the message says'. Once he had opened the store I continued to try to explain that i wasnt late as he was suggesting but he refused to listen, using phrases such as 'i dont care about your message', ' why should i listen when you have told me 4 times already' and 'you dont know about my life, i have a life away from here'. He was very rude, aggressive and simply would not let me speak or explain.
    As a customer I expect to be given the opportunity to explain and to be listened to. I was calm and polite in my actions but was met with hostility and disinterest.
    Had i dealt with the younger lads throughout or not been dealt with as i was on the return this would have been a 5 star review as the hire , the scooter and the service up until the end were very good. The return however was far from satisfactory and certainly effects the overall satisfaction.

    I have lived in Benidorm for 12 years using a scooter for 10 of these.

    I buy my scooters instead of renting but of course I need to know that if anything goes wrong it can be dealt with. Have tried other companies and they have been OK. However last year I tried Butterfields for a repair. This was done at once and not too expensive.

    Since then I have bought a scooter from them as has my husband. In both cases they have proved excellent in price and customer satisfaction.

    Nothing is too much trouble for Ben and his employees. You are not rushed, take your time, ask loads of questions which are answered and explained.

    As I am 84 I may not need another scooter but if and when I do, BUTTERFIELDS will be my first point of call and I am sure that I will again be satisfied with the whole experience and their service.

    Would recommend this firm Just had my mobility scooter repaired. Staff friendly and helpful and repairs done within the stated time.
