The town hall of Benidorm has this week approved the donation of 4,000m2 of town hall land situated on the Poniente side of town to the Valencian government, for the construction of 91 properties to be available as lower cost rentals for the local population.

The approval in the town hall was unanimous, and will mark the biggest development of this type in the municipality since the return to democracy.

The Valencian government has to bear the cost of the construction etc, and the works have a maximum limit of five years to be completed, or the land reverts to the town hall of Benidorm.

The Valencian government has already announced a large program of social housing building, this will form part of that scheme.
