• Trees bearing the "specialty fruit" NISPEROS of the town of Callosa d'en Sarrià, the small town that is found 20 minutes drive or so inland from Benidorm. Fruit collection this year has started early, owing to higher temperatures than normal at the beginning of the year, and is said to be of excellent quality. The amount harvested has however fallen by 27% this year, down to 8,000 tons from a normal 11,000 tons. This is down to the continuing lack of rain in our province.

The supermarkets and fruit shops will have plenty of these on offer at the moment, give them a try, but beware of the juice from them staining your clothes, even the "pink stuff" washing product struggles to remove stains!
